Location: The Grand Canyon National Park is situated in the northwestern side of Arizona. It is located within Coconino County in the US and entirely within the state of Arizona. Specifically, it is located on the Hualapai Indian Reservation at Grand Canyon West.

Best Things to Do in The Grand Canyon: The Grand Canyon is famous for its hiking trails and mule rides. Wait for the mules to come in early in the morning. It is fun to watch. There are two small trails that lead into the canyon; the Kaibab Trail and the Bright Angel Trail. Most riders tend to frequent the Bright Angel trail since it is conveniently located in the Grand Canyon Village.

The national park also holds events. For instance, tourists can enjoy the Grand Canyon Music Festival on the South Rim in September while the North Rim features a Native American Heritage day in August.

Best Times to Visit The Grand Canyon : The best time to visit the Grand Canyon is March through May as well as September to November. Visiting to the summer months is a mistake since you will be met with a wall of tourists. Good luck finding lodging in tourist season. Hotels have some great deals in winter however much of the park might be closed off due to heavy snowfall.

The Kaibab trail is an excellent choice in winter. While it may be more open to the elements it is not covered with treacherous ice and snow as compared to other trails. Just make sure that you don’t take the Kaibab Trail during the hot summer months.

The Grand Canyon Neighborhoods & Towns : The Grand Canyon Village also includes the Visitor Center and Park Headquarters. The canyon can be explored here from either the East Rim or West Rim Drive. The East Rim Drive follows the South Rim for 26 miles. Both of them can be accessed through cars and shuttles.
