The crater was first discovered by Russian scientists who were happened to be drilling above it and the ground below their feet collapsed in itself. What they found was a deep and dark abyss that was as amazing as it was frightening to behold. They also found a smorgasbord of natural gas. However, they ended up harvesting so much of it that it became unsafe for the residents living nearby. So what did they do to ensure that the gas wouldn’t enter the community? However, you can hire drivers to take you there to see the natural marvel yourself. Soviet scientists accidently triggered a natural wonder to life in the hopes of burning off the gas. See the amazing result of their folly. It might cost you more, but it will be worth the trip. Make sure that you also visit the other two craters there that are just as spectacular.

Of course, if you would rather just glimpse the Door to Hell in a tepid environment then its best that you visit the place in the spring. There are also mud craters that you can witness during the day. The Door to Hell might look amazing at night but it best that you hire a driver who knows where the potholes and mud craters are before you hop in for the drive.
